Meet Sarah
Sarah is a multifaceted creative who seamlessly blends her roles as jeweler, silversmith, teacher, and mentor. Her jewelry career began with formal training in the Manufacturing and Repair program at the Minneapolis Community & Technical college in the early noughties, where she established a solid foundation in technical craftsmanship that would define her future work.
Following her education, Sarah flourished as a full-time maker, showcasing her distinctive pieces at juried fine art fairs and local galleries. Her commitment to quality and artistic vision quickly earned her recognition in the handcrafted jewelry community.
As her career evolved, Sarah discovered a profound passion for teaching others the craft she loves. This passion led to the creation of Quench Jewelry Arts, a teaching studio where she shared her extensive knowledge and skills with students at various levels. Though Quench has since closed, the impact of Sarah's educational work continues through the students she mentored and the creative community she helped build.
Sarah's journey from student to established maker to educator exemplifies her dedication to the complete cycle of artistic growth. Through both her original jewelry creations and her teaching experience, she continues to contribute significantly to the metalworking and jewelry design community while pursuing new creative avenues in her evolving career.
Sarah lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband Mark, a former fire chief who now oversees the Emergency Operations for the upcoming 2026 National Special Olympics Games in the Twin Cities. They share their home with their cattle dog, Charlee. She’s a true working dog at heart and reminds us daily to stay focused, take necessary breaks, and appreciate the simple joy of having a faithful friend by our side as we create.
